Lumbini is the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. Currently this place is in Rupandehi district of Nepal. A grove named Lumbini has been identified as the birth place of Buddha in various Buddhist literature.       Janaki Temple is a holy Hindu place of worship. This temple of Janaki or Sita is located in Janakpur , her birthplace. This temple is built in Mughal style. This famous temple of Nepal is considered to be a masterpiece of art. Located in Janakpur, the capital of ancient Mithila, Janaki Temple is the center of Hindu faith around the world. This temple, built on the birthplace of Sita from Ramayana, which is popular in Hinduism, is magnificent and attractive. It is also known as Naulakha Temple because the temple was built by Princess Vrishabhanu Kunwari of Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh, India, at a cost of 9 lakhs of silver . The foundation stone was laid in 1894 and the construction of the temple was completed in 1911. The temple is also a cultural heritage for the people of Mithila. According to the annual calendar of the temple, almost all activities from birth to death are done according to the Mithila method. Examples of this are celebrating Ram Navami in every Chaitra , Janaki Navami in Baisakh , Ramjani marriage festival in November , Kojagrata in Asoj Punirma , Jhula in July-August and Parikrama in February. Thousands of devout devotees participate in the Poonirmas of every month. The Nepal government is continuing its efforts to list this temple as a world heritage site . It is a heritage of the rich Maithili civilization in religious and cultural terms          

Chhinnamasta, O Goddess

      Chinnamasta Bhagwati is located in Sakhra village of Chinnamasta in the south border area from Rajviraj in Saptari district . Chinnamasta Bhagwati is believed to be one of the Shaktipeeths that fulfills the wishes of the people, so it has great faith among the people of Nepal and India . This temple is at a distance of 10 km from Saptari headquarters Rajviraj . This temple is located near the Indian border. In this temple there is a big crowd during Dashain , the great festival of Hindus . According to ancient history and legend , when the Muslims invaded in 1097, the Karnatavamshi king of Karnataka Nanyadev escaped and reached Mithila through Patali Putra and established his capital at Simraungadh (Bara). In the fifth generation of this Nanyadev dynasty, Shakrasimha Dev became the king. He came to Saptari to live in exile with his minor son Harisinha Dev on the throne. It is said that he installed the idol of Bhagwati as his Kuldevi and named the goddess Shakreshwari after himself. Since the goddess did not have a head, after some time it was started to be called Chinnamasta Bhagwati.
